Iran Denies Plan to End Nuclear Standoff

Iranian officials have denied that they offered a nine step plan to stop producing uranium that could be converted into nuclear weapons. It was reported that Iran gave this plan to Western countries, but that may not be the case. Iranian officials argue that they need to keep producing this uranium to run civil and medical reactors but according to this report they would also stop producing that uranium. Iran's top  nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili denied on Saturday that Iran offered up any type of plan. The news agencies that have spread this story say the plan was offered up by Iran to European countries, but Iran says they are untrue and call the stories baseless. This is a serious matter because Western countries fear that this production of uranium is a cover to produce atomic weapons and stories like this only further complicate the issue.
