Jordan Struggles to Absorb Refugees

The latest estimates of refugees in Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Turkey and Iraq are 300,000. Unicef is the key provider for these camps. These camps are what offer the education to the children. Some are learning basic addition and subtraction and others Arabic vocabulary. 14 school tents were opened up by Unicef last week in the Zaatari camp. This camp is ts in Jordan. The biggest problem is that the people miss their homes in Syria, and hope to have a future. The lack of resources is the biggest initial problem though. The Jordanian government and the aid organizations are running out of these resources. The Syrian children at these camps have been on their best behavior. For instance, a young 3rd grade girl always raises her hand in class, others always sit quietly until addressed by authority. More than 17,000 Syrian children are registered at camps in Jordan.
