Just recently, President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz was shot my military forces on Saturday. His injuries were treated and made a public announcement about the shooting. The President claimed that it was an accident or "friendly fire" is what the he called it. Even though the President believes it was an accident, that is not the case with others. Others claim that it was an attempt at assassinating the President of Mauritania. He had a history of unstable politics and threats from Al Quaeda members. The issue is till being looked into.
