Mali Extremists Compile List of Unwed Mothers

In Mali, radical extremists are making a list of unwed mothers in the area. People are afraid that these extremists will use this list to find and punish the unwed mothers. These punishments are feared to be stoning, amputations, and executions. It is thought that these extremists will punish the mothers because they have said that the laws don't allow relationships outside marriage. The U.N. decided in a resolution Friday to send international troops to the area to provide assistance. The U.N. targeted human rights abuses in its resolution. The radicals have, in the past, held public executions, amputations, floggings, and other cruel punishments.
