Panic is rising over the list of unwed women that radical
Islamists in Northern Mali have created. The list brings about fear that these
women will be severely and inhumanely punished. These radical Islamists have
been known to conduct public executions, amputations, and other extremely
torturous punishments. In July, these extremists put a man and woman who
committed adultery in a hole and stoned them to death while other residents
watched. I think this list is definitely a cause for concern, especially since
women and children are the most targeted in this country. A close eye should be
kept on these radicals to ensure that the unwed women on the list go unharmed.
If other countries let this issue go undetected, a lot of people could die, so
they definitely need to step up and take control of the situation before it
gets any worse than it already is.
