No Presidential Opponent in Costa Rica

In the race to presidency, Costa Rica lost a candidate in the second round of voting. Johnny Araya dropped out of the election on March 5th after a poll suggested that he only held the support of 21% of the voters while his opponent, Luis Guillermo Solis, was ahead with 64%. This was a drastic change since the first round of voting didn't show much of a preference from voters(Solis 30.64%, Araya 29.71%). After the opinion poll showed a high preference for Solis, Araya dropped out of the race because he thought it would be a waste of money to hold the second round of voting. Araya's name will still appear on the ballot since Costa Rican Constitution does not allow candidates to drop out of a presidential election.
