Liberia comes alive in these clever animated GIFs

The article linked below caught my attention because it is a common mistake to see foreign countries that have undergone hard times in their recent history as scary, dangerous, unhappy places. It is common knowledge that shocking pictures tend to be reported more often in our daily newspaper, news channel or any other sort of media channel. For this reason, many developing countries are only remembered by their “shocking” pictures. By “shocking” I mean pictures of war, poverty, destruction. This article presents the work of French photographer Francois Beaurain addressing the issue. The photographer made a series of GIF’s that aims to capture Liberia’s lighter side. Francois found out that the country is a lot different than represented on Google.
