Strained relations between Turkey and US result in Tit-for-Tat Move

The United States and Turkey have both announced that they are cancelling most visitor visas between the two countries after a US citizen was arrested in Turkey.  The Washington Post wrote that the move showed the tension between the two countries that has existed for a few years.  This tension is primarily due to the war in Syria and the Turkish cleric named Fethillah Gulen who is wanted by Turkey and is living in exile here in United States.  Additional factors include Turkey buying weapons systems from Russia in order to seemingly protect themselves from the west.  These tensions threaten to undermine an important alliance for both the United States and Turkey considering all the unrest in the region.
