The ongoing genocide of native Uyghur people residing in China has been met with backlash from global organizations, though there is still limited power to combat the actions happening within China's borders. But on February 11th, a rally led by the Interfaith Council at Cornell was held on Capitol Hill to bring awareness to the issue and the Uyghur HR Protection Act. Students who attended were able to voice their opinions and generate support to enact the Act. Some speakers talked about the protection of refugees. Other speakers denounced the countries refusing to put a stop to the genocide.
