The death count for the earthquake in Syria and Turkey reached 33,000 and could double in the coming days. The president of Turkey in an effort to shift blame issued arrest warrants for over 100 contractors engineers and builders associated with some of the buildings that collapsed. 12 people are already in custody. It is likely this is a tactic of the president who is facing a difficult election in May.
