Iraq's death penalty has caught the attention of many people. They just recently executed ten Iraqis and one Algerian. Those that were executed were accused of terrorist activities after being forced to confess. The death penalty and fairness of trials is very concerning. There is no record of any criminal being pardoned after being given the death penalty in Iraq. After Saddam Hussain's presidency ended, the executions stopped. Capital punishment laws have since been reinstated in Iraq. This has gotten attention from the UN and many human rights groups.
