Women Protest Shariah Law
An Al-Qadea in the Islamic Magrehb have taken control over northern Africa, and have strickly forced their laws on these African people in Timbuktu. Saturday more than 100 women protested this imposition. The African women have been forced to wear veils, and are dragged down when they choose to not wear them. As well as being forced to wear veils many other rights for women have been broken. Such laws include banning music as well. The Islamic group has been in control of the Timbuktu region since April. They continue to impose the Shariah law. The women protesters did not get far with their protest Saturday. They were quickly stopped by gunfire. There is still not much recorded about this protest an Islamic woman stated that the protest had taken place but that was all she said. Little detail is confirmed from the entire event.
