An earthquake hit on Tuesday April 16th along the border of Iran and Pakistan. The U.S. Geological Survey has said a 7.8 magnitude earthquake hit Iran and Pakistan although the Iranian Seismological Center has said the earthquake had a magnitude of 7.5. No matter the magnitude, the earthquake has initially taken the lives of 34 people and injured 80. To help the relief, army doctors and Frontier Corps paramilitary forces are in Mashakel.
In the Saravan area it has been declared a State of Emergency for help to come from other provinces. There is no apparent damage to any nuclear plants at this time. The aftershocks of the earthquake are to be expected for days to weeks. This earthquake follows another of last week that killed 37 people in the city of Kaki.
