Catalonia

Catalonia found in north eastern Spain had held an "illegal" election to make itself an independent state away from Spain. Over 5 million people had shown up to polls to vote for independence despite the fact that the police had closed many polling locations and were even preventing citizens from voting which escalated to violence and at least 800 were injured.
