Egypt Reportedly Ordered 30,000 Weapons From North Korea

A U.N. Investigation prompted by the seizure of over 23 million dollars worth of weapons found that Egyptian business executives had secretly purchased these weapons from North Korea. This violates the Sanctions placed on North Korea by the E.U. and is likely to further strain relations between D.C. and Cairo, as it reportedly contributed to Trump's decision to "freeze or delay almost $300 million in military aid to Egypt this summer" ("Egypt Ordered 30,000," 2017). While this hasn't gotten much news coverage, it will be interesting to see how this shapes foreign policy and the overall well being of the region.
