Dioxins After Hurricane Harvey

The EPA is concerned that Hurricane Harvey has caused a chemical spill. There are extremely high levels of dioxins that have spread throughout the San Jacinto River. Already twelve people have died. Dioxins have been linked to cancer and birth defects and are easily spread. After watching the "Trashed" documentary, part of the Sustainability series here at North Central College, I have learned about the dangers of dioxins. Find out more about how they are affecting the Texas community after Hurricane Harvey here: http://www.pbs.org/newshour/bb/news-wrap-hurricane-harvey-caused-potentially-dangerous-chemical-spill-says-epa/ -Emily Migala
