Afghan Army Without the U.S.

Really interesting article in the New York Times. Chilling story of the Afghan Army trying to take down the remaining Taliban, without the aid of U.S. soldiers, commanders, or weaponry. One Afghan soldier bemoans the lack of U.S. aircraft, the article criticizes their less-than-perfect communication and strategy, but overall there's a sense of positivity and hopefulness. There's some snide dialogue between Afghan commanders and insurgents that's definitely worth a read.
