This is a couple of weeks late but on March 31st, there were anti-Korean protests going on in Shin-Okubo which is in Tokyo, Japan. The protests were held in Shin-Okubo because it is home to a very large Korean community. Historically, Korean-Japanese have always been met with a great amount of discrimination, and have largely been seen as members of the out-group. However, with the recent rise and spread of Korean mass culture, it's surprising to still see people holding on to this sort of prejudice. People involved with these protests now see the influx of Korean pop culture as a threat to their own culture, and have been known to speak very openly of these opinions on the internet.
There has been some good that has come out of this, however. Much of the protests was met by very negative reactions. People took to the street that same day in support of the Koreans living there, telling these protesters to "go back to the internet," and that they are the ones who need to go home.
