This article looks a boy scouting troop application that was denied on the basis of it being sponsored by a gay rights organization. The Scouts' position claimed that they did not need funding from an outside organization and that the "mission of their organization didn't properly align with the goals of Boy Scouts". This article goes on to explain that former scouts responded that the ban on gay men in the program should not be lifted, but others are pointing out their ignorance. This shows that there is a large ingroup versus outgroup outlook on straight and gay men when looking at the scouts. The real question here is: Should these ethnicities really be something that decides who should get opportunities to be part of an organization?
