On Saturday, Trump tweeted out approximately 18 tweets that highlighted the poor leadership of the San Juan governor in Puerto Rico, Yulin Cruz. The majority of the tweets Trump calls Governor Cruz and her citizens lazy emphasizing that the hurricane relief should be a community effort. However, Bernie Sanders calls Trump's tweets unspeakable. Sanders points out that Trump is speaking from a place of luxury, meanwhile the Governor of San Juan is struggling trying to provide for her citizens. Also, Sanders parallel Trump's response to one fueled by race relationship. He states in one paragraph, "Given the President's history on race, given the fact that he, a few months ago told us that there were good people on both sides when neo-Nazis were marching in Charlottesville, yeah, I think we have a right to be suspect that he is treating the people of Puerto Rico in a different way than he has treated the people of Texas or Florida."White House budget director, Mick Mulvaney, defended Trump's response saying that the president was trying to explain how difficult the situation, however it seems the reactions to Trump's tweets are still thoroughly divided because of the way he explained the situation.
