Colombia's rebel group truce

The rebel group in Colombia, the ELN, has agreed on a truce. The truce began to unfold on Sunday with president Juan Manuel Santos.  This is beneficial for the government because the rebel group has agreed to stop taking hostages, attack roads and oil instillations. The actions of the rebel group was affecting the economy in Colombia. Also, the ELN has agreed to stop recruiting minors which is good because personally endangering the lives of many innocent children is just wrong. The leader of the ELN Nicolás Rodriguez, has ordered his troops to stop any attack on the armed forces of Colombia because it goes against the agreement. The military of Colombia has also agreed to end any operations emplaced against the ELN. This truce is the beginning of major peace between the Colombian government and the ELN.
