The percentage of foreign students applying to graduate schools here in the U.S has declined this year. Although the percentage rates from applicants in China have dropped, applications from India and Brazil have increased. International students also seem to be focusing on attending public universities rather than private ones. The International Institute of Education believes the decline is contributed to students wanting to study in their native lands, not applying to schools they don't believe they will be accepted into or simply applying to a smaller number of schools.
