Hunt for Joseph Kony, elusive African warlord, is halted

Today, Uganda’s military has suspended its hunt for the infamous warlord, Joseph Kony. The hunt for Kony has been suspended because the rebels seized the Central African Republic’s power, which has led to little cooperation between the rebels and the Ugandan military. Although the militia is not as strong as it used to be, Kony and his Lord’s Resistance Army has been wanted for many years. The United States has even provided troops to help locate and find Kony and his militia. Over the years, Kony and the militia have captured children to fight for their cause, which has led to Kony’s 33 counts of war crimes by the International Criminal Court. Even though Uganda is not removing their soldiers from the Central Africa Republic, many are worried that Kony will use the lull to his advantage. This may lead to him kidnapping more children or leading more attacks.
