Protests arose in Venezuela against the
government after experiencing high inflation rate, the spread of crime and the
shortage of some basic goods in the market. The opposition Leader Leopoldo Lopez, a former mayor of Chacao district, in eastern Caracas, has been called for a march against the
government in Venezuela’s capital, Caracas. He then received an arrest warrant after
having three protesters died in the clashes. He challenged
the government to arrest him saying that he did not commit any crime. He, also
, told his supporters to dress white confirming their commitment to peace. The
U.S secretary of State, John Kerry, expressed his concern about the situation.
While, Venezuela’s
President, Maduro, expressed
his frustration from the situation mentioning that three U.S. officials working
in the Visa department will be expelled from the country for suspicions about
their contribution with university students against the government. He said “"It's a group of US functionaries who are in the
universities. We've been watching them having meetings in the private
universities for two months. They work in visas," Then added, "Venezuela
doesn't take orders from anyone!". He also ordered the employees of the
national oil company to do a march towards his palace on Tuesday.
