Almost one and a half years after the death of the legendary Nelson Mandela, South Africa is experiencing a xenophobic war. During the period of illness, and when he died, many South African feared that the country may break into war and the successor to Nelson may not be the kind of leader Mandela was. One citizen stated, "Right now, people are scared of what is going to happen because Mandela was a father figure. These guys — Zuma and the others — they’re not like him. We were just waiting for Mandela to die and now we don’t know what is going to happen because people don’t trust Zuma" (National post, 2013).
At the moment countries abroad are scared for their citizens living as immigrants in South Africa. Musicians are cancelling their music performances and radio stations are no longer playing music from South Africa rebelling the attacks. The blame for the failure is on government.
