As more and more refugees attempt to flood out of Syria the U.N. has urged Western countries to take in around 130,000 Syrians which is a fraction compared to the four million other refugees. U.N. officials call for a rethinking about how the western world works to fix massive humanitarian crises. America has pledged to take in 2,000 which is compared to 700 that it has taken in already since the war began four years ago. Still, Republicans are putting pressure on President Obama to slow down intake because there are fears that terrorists can use American assistance to enter the country. Other Western countries are also reluctant to open their borders up. Even in the midst of a humanitarian crisis the most powerful countries in the world are slow to give assistance.
