The United States and Cuba are making efforts to reconcile after decades of problematic relations. At the Summit of the Americas, Raul Castro and President Obama met face-to-face to discuss the beginning of a new era. It seems the two leaders "agree to disagree" on some issues. Although the United States' relationship with Cuba has begun to thaw, it seems the US's relationship with Venezuela has taken a turn for the worse. The United States has imposed sanctions on Venezuela after declaring the country a threat to US national security. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.
