Just the other day, Palestine signed to join the International Criminal Court. This is just but one of the many countries that sign to join the court. Countries such as France have been pushing to present ISIS to the prosecution court. However the rules regarding the cases that the court handles makes it hard for the court to look into the case.
Normally there are various ways that a case can get to be heard by the International court. First, if a country is a party state, second, if the prosecutor initiates an investigation, and third, if the U.N. Security Council . However, considering that the countries where ISIS is based are not party members of the ICC it has become impossible for the Chief Prosecutor for the ICC to present the ISIS case for judgement to the court. The question at hand however is, with the evidence that ISIS is harmful causing harm to many the court cannot intervene. Is there hope in the ICC?
