Earlier this week the German magazine Der Spiegel announced that Russia had signed a deal with Greece, promising to build a gas pipeline that bring much needed capital to the struggling Greek economy. Kremlin officials have come out saying that this agreement is not true, and that Moscow did not plan to bring financial assistance to Greece. However, Greece has voiced an interest in constructing such a pipeline due to the advanced funds that would ease the country's financial troubles. As Greece struggles to avoid default, any such assistance would be a tremendous relief and the country is still in talks with other euro zone members to find some relief.
