U.S. to file complaint over 'unsafe' intercept by Russian fighter jet

The US is set to complain to Moscow after a Russian fighter jet intercepted a reconnaissance plane in an "unsafe and unprofessional manner." According to the US crew, the Russian pilots were aggressive in the maneuvers they performed and felt in danger because of their high rate of speed and how close they were to the Americans' plane. Russia has reported that the US was flying towards their country with their transponder off and that their jet only flew around them a couple of times to identify the plane. The United States have fired back saying that their transponder was on and the report given by Russia is false. The two countries have had aircraft run-ins before with one of the more dangerous ones taking place last year when a Russian jet flew within a hundred feet of an American reconnaissance plane.
