Kerry condemns arrests of chinese feminists

Today John Kerry called out the Chinese government for detaining 5 women's rights activists. China has a well documented problem of domestic abuse and public groping on trains. The women who had gained fame for marshaling public opinion against domestic violence were arrested the day before international women's day. They were planning a demonstration for the occasion. Since Xi Jinping became leader of China there had been a renewed effort against any kind of nongovernmental social organization. The police made the arrests on the grounds that the women were disrupting social order. The prosecution has 7 days to charge the women or let them go. China has condemned other world leaders for disrespecting its sovereignty in their reaction to the arrests.
