Israeli hackers have responded to Anonymous' hacking of Israeli government websites, databases, and Zionists on Facebook. Anonymous began it's attacks in November 2012 with the name #OpIsrael as a means to fight back against Israel's human rights violations towards Palestinians in the West Bank, Gaza, and Golan Heights. Israeli government officials reacted calmly to #OpIsrael, saying the attacks have had little to no affect on the country's infrastructure. Rather, they are saying Anonymous only "wants to create noise in the media about issues that are close to its heart." Supporters of Israel are particularly angered by Anonymous' decision to escalate the attacks on April 7th, Holocaust Remembrance Day. On Twitter, the Israeli Elite Strike Force posted the following:
"Oopsi, iran/syrian gov websites are DEAD!
police.ir syreen.gov.sy BOW DOWN!
#iEF@EFnet
@nana10 @ynet @MaarivNRG "
The website
opisrael.com is being used by the Israeli Elite as a warning that retaliation against #OpIsrael will continue.
