Taliban Representatives in Qatar With Nothing To Do

Multiple high ranking Taliban representatives were flown into Qatar by the US in the hopes of beginning a peace negotiation in 2010. The peace talks began with the consideration of swapping Taliban prisoners of war in Guantanamo Bay with a US prisoner being held by the Taliban. However these talks sputtered and no resolution was made. The US has not sat down to negotiate with the Taliban representatives since early 2012. So what are these men doing with all their time? Enjoying their lives in Qatar! There have been reports of many of the men having multiple children, and visiting the local shopping mall. While the men are keeping their public presence to a minimum, they have gone almost an entire year without sitting down and doing what they were brought there to do. Both sides acknowledge that no talks have taken place since 2012, and there are currently no scheduled plans to formally resume them.
