Austria Weighs Building Border Fence

With as many as 8,000 migrants entering Austria each day, Austria is considering building a fence along its border with Slovenia to help control the amount of immigrants heading North through Europe. The country's interior minister declared earlier today that the intention is not to close the border, but to rather establish order.

The decision has been contemplated since Austria has witnessed how even the wealthiest nations in Europe like Germany and Sweden have had a hard time organizing and controlling the flow of migrants and refugees. Such flow has been straining the resources of such wealthy countries, and since Austria is not a Germany or a Sweden, then it is 'understandable' that it is doing what it is in order to protect its own economy and people.

However, the large influx of migrants entering Austria are not looking to stay in Austria, they are simply passing through, to reach Germany.  Yet, there are those might decide to stay and that is what Austria seems to want to avoid. Due to such border talks, relations between Germany and Austria have been tense and full of rancor.

Now we will see how the severely refugee crisis could test even the strongest of ties.
