French Police hold rare nation wide protests

"Thousands of French police officers have held a rare protest in Paris and across the country over what they say are a lack of resources and a judiciary that is too lenient towards criminals."

French police men have had enough with the government not appreciating and thanking them enough for their services. The French police became tired with all the unfairness when this past weekend when a police man in northern France was critically injured by a prisoner who had escaped.

French police have taken the streets of Paris to demonstrate their rage and frustration, to which the government has responded with multiple reforms incluiding tougher sentences for violent criminals.

President Francois Hollande has responded and has praised"the difficult, courageous and effective work by police, gendarmes and all security forces" and has promised to meet police unions next week in hopes of being able to provide all that the unions ask for.

Reading this made me think of our police force here at home and how we usually have forsaken them and have not treated them with the respect and dignity that they deserve. Thus, a lot of issues such as mistreatment and corruption have arised in the American police force, however, it is my hope that one that the American police force protests just like the French and demands the certain and unalienable rights that it deserves.
