Haitian Voters try to turn page

Haiti has gone through a lot since the earthquake that devastated the country in 2010. It is still recovering from that and people are still living in poverty, for the most part. It is sad to see that even though it has been quite some time since the earthquake hit, that there has not been any reform with legislation to help the people get back on their feet. People are trying to not allow other citizens to vote by using intimidation and violence within Haiti. The people who are trying to vote are threatened with being killed or severely hurt, which makes it hard for there to be a fair election and promote change within the country. Many of them are so pessimistic about being there, it makes me sad that a country that wants fair elections cannot get them. It also makes me realize that in the united States we do have it good here, even though we complain about our politics. The politician that are in Haiti now are corrupt and are not helping the citizens at all, and there is little hope that they can get the help they need. I hope that they can have an election this year and be able to vote without anything bad happening.
