"Proposed budget cuts for 2017 include AIDS, AmeriCorps programs"

The Trump administration has recently given Congress a list of various ways to cut the federal budget by $18 billion to make room for additional defense spending. Defense spending is not the only thing that Trump is trying to increase in the budget. He is attempting to add money to border security, including the wall at the U.S.-Mexico border. With increasing some programs that means they also need to cut others. The main programs the budget plans to decrease is education, labor and health. For example, these cuts would affect the Center for Disease Control and Prevention budget by $314 million. This means that the CDC will have to severely reduce disease research and prevention or, the worst scenario, cut certain programs all together. It will be very interesting to see what actually comes out of the proposed budget cuts and increases in the future.
