China pledges $124 billion for new Silk Road as champion of globalization

Chinese President Xi Jinping has promised $124 billion to forge a new "Silk Road", which would promote peace, free trade and globalization among China and other major world powers. This new economic endeavor would reestablish trade routes and further China's reputation as an influential world leader. The new Silk Road would be more inclusive to countries previously not included, and its goals are to get rid of the diplomatic games and rivalries associated with international trade. The idea of a new Silk Road is intriguing to many countries, but many European leaders are asking for more transparency and information before agreeing to this new form of trade.
