Emmanuel Macron Pledges to Unite France as He Is Sworn in as President

After winning the recent French elections, Emmanuel Macron has been sworn in on Sunday.  The 39-year old Marcon is the youngest President since Napoleon. One ofthe main challenges that Macron will be facing is his political inexperience (he has not held a position in an elected office) and counteracting the populist movement in France; also it will be interesting to see whether his movement will be able to push through legislation has his party “Republique En Marche” has currently no parliamentary seats. The parliamentary elections are in June.
On another note, security has been high since the 2015 terror attacks, and the recent shooting in April that ambushed three Parisian police officers on one of Paris’ tourist attractions, the Champs-Elysees, so security will remain tight as Macron continues is inauguration ceremony.
