Key GOP lawmakers flip on health care after Trump meeting

Fred Upton and Billy Long announced Wednesday after meeting with President Trump that they will now support the Republican plan to repeal and replace Obamacare. These votes mark an important victory for Republican leaders and the White House who have been trying for weeks to revive a healthcare bill that was pulled from the floor in March. President Trump had proposed a new bill in place of Obamacare and he did not receive enough votes for it to pass. The bill will leave 24 million fewer people insured by 2026 than under Obamacare. Trump called about a dozen on the fence Republican lawmakers and urged them to take back this bill that would leave millions of Americans without proper healthcare.
