USA VS CANADA TRADE WAR

Canada is planning on banning US coal exports in response to US unfair tax on the Canadian Lumber. Canada is planning on to tax the US thermal coal entering Canada. Oregon is a big supporter of the tax on the Canadians since they are the ones that are going to benefit from all this. Canada and US for many year have had a trade dispute over softwood lumber. US argues that Canada unfairly subsidies its industry by charging minimal fees to log publicly owned lands. The tax on the Canadian Lumber is from 3.24% to 24%. Last week the US commerce department said that it was going to charge 5 Canadian companies. As Trump has said in the past, he is against the NAFTA agreement, the NAFTA agreement needs to be revised. It will be interesting to see what happens in the future with Canada and Mexico.
