Drug Smugglers Tunnel Directly Into Arizona Parking Spaces

On Mexican-American boarder lies the city of Nogales, Arizona. This city is a popular meeting place for citizens of both nations. It is also a popular area for drug smugglers. Just recently discovered were 16 tunnels dug under the boarder wall, easily allowing for drugs to be brought into the United States. These tunnels were connected to parking meter spaces along the street. For just 25 cents, an accomplice from the US would park his car with a false bottom over the space. The smugglers would then load the car up with drugs while the accomplice pretended to be shopping in a nearby store.
Since the tunnels were discovered, the city of Nogales has cemented the tunnels shut and, at the urging of the Department of Homeland Security, the parking spaces have since been removed. Parking is no longer allowed within sixty feet of the boarder. The city is expected to lose $8,500 is revenue. This shows just how easy it is for narcotics to be brought into the US, and these security breaches are very concerning.
