Greece is Set to Shut Down

Amidst the economic crisis that Greece is facing, the people of Greece are looking to shut down. Many governmental offices, small businesses, and many transportation system will be shutting down in an effort to send a message to the government that something must be done. The effort is taking the Athen strikes to another level in that businesses are beginning to take part. The people of Greece are tired of the stalled economy. Many have been left jobless and the country is having to ask for European aid in order to survive. The people striking will gather outside the parliament in Athens on Wednesday morning to protest against the government's tough austerity measures. According to the BBC website, "Legislators are voting on two bills on Wednesday and Thursday that include cuts to the pay and pensions of public sector workers, higher taxes and the suspension of collective labour agreements."
