Encephalitis outbreak in Indian

In northern India, encephalitis broke and more than 400 people died result of the outbreak: most of them are children.

Typical epidemic encephalitis in this region is Japanese encephalitis. It usually prevail after the monsoon season which causes mass breeding of mosquitos. However, the strain in this year is different from usual one. It is considered that the main reason for this year’s epidemic is contaminated water. Lack of adequate sanitation and access to clean water result in wide spread of the disease in the rural regions.
