Tunisian Police Tear Gas Protesters

Tunisian Police attempted to break up protests that were occurring in Tunis due to the showing of the animated movie Persepolis, which insulted conservative Islamists due to the displaying of an image of God in the film. With the autocratic ruler of Tunisia gone, more conservative Muslims have been vocal on their personal beliefs. The protests had begun Tuesday but flared up on Friday, leading to limited violence between Police and Protesters. The issue of Religion and State will remain an issue heading forward, as Tunisia will have to balance the conservative and the moderate Islamic movements going forward.
