Death sentence to killer of Pakistan Governor
Of course we all know how controversial and how tense a discussion over god is. We all get that awkward feeling sometimes and just choose not to continue the discussion for fear of offending someone's ideals. With the history of religioun-spurred conflicts in the middle east, Pakistan has had the same situation to the extreme.
In Islamabad, Pakistan a security guard, Mumtaz Hussain Qadri, shot and killed Punjab governor, Salman Taseer. Qadri shot Taseer dead on January 4th over his remarks on the controversial blasphemy law. He was sentenced to death on account for the murder and also act of terroism. Qadri's lawer wanted to appeal to a higher court, but Quadri said not to since he believed he had done what the prophet Mohammed wanted and would see him in heaven.
It just goes to show how different a person can be. We, here in the united states, would almost never result to those measures. We live for ourselves and not for a higher being. It is funny to know that Qadri will die believing he has done what is right. And what is even funnier is that we believe we know 100 % percent that what he did was wrong. Perception of each person is a powerful force.
