Being from Georgia, the Ahmaud Arbery trial hits close to home. Brunswick, GA is about to play host to one of the most important trials in todays civil rights movement since the George Floyd verdict. Arbery's murder has been said to resemble a modern day lynching and his trial could start an uprising or show the world that our legal system has evolved for the better. Georgia has a nasty history of unfair trials when race is involved and this trial is feared to show the same thing but many high profile civil rights activists are present in the courtroom to show their support for the victim as well as see how the legal system unfolds in a case that is so sensitive. Americans are looking at this trial to see if our system will work fairly for all.
