Japan is planning on adding $6.75 billion in order to get more air and maritime defenses, since the country is concerned with threats posed by China and North Korea. The prime Minister Fumio Kishida approved the outlay as a supplementary budget. The Japanese nation was only spending 1% of its GDP on military forces, but the newest Prime Minister raised it to a 2%. The additional spending plan approved by Kishida's government on Friday also includes pre-payments to defense contractors for equipment to help them deal with coronavirus pandemic disruptions that have hurt their finances.
