Poland border crisis: Migrants tear-gassed trying to cross from Belarus

Troops responded with tear gas and water trucks at the Polish border of Belarus, which has been experiencing problems due to the influx of migrants. Thousands of migrants are pouring into the Polish side of the Belarusian border. There are from the Middle East and hoping to enter European Union member countries. EU has criticized Belarus for enticing migrants to head to Poland and other EU member states, causing a humanitarian crisis in the region. In response, Russia, an ally of Belarus, accused Poland of responding to the migrants with tear gas and water trucks. Alexander Lukashenko, President of Belarus, analyzed that he wanted to impress upon the world that the Western countries do not care for migrants and are inhumane in their behavior. As Iraq begins to repatriate its citizens, 200 people will be repatriated by passenger plane on March 18. However, many migrants have expressed a strong will to stay there at all costs to enter the EU.
