Thousands of Afghan children and teenage refugees will soon be enrolled in America’s public schools

This fascinating article talks about Afghan refugees getting an education in the US. Communities and educators are gathering to prepare to help with language support, family support, and trauma counseling. Half of the almost 53,000 Afghan refugees that are spread between 8 military installations around the US are 18 or under. In states such as Virginia, Texas, California, and Nebraska Afghan Children refugees have already started their education in public school. The article also mentioned that more funding by the government is needed to help public schools.
